Well, hopefully not to steal the thunder of **Monica’s** thread [If you could invite six people to dinner…](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=163338), I’ve been inspired to ask…If you could have six FICTIONAL people over for dinner, who would you invite? The rules? 1. The person HAS to be fictional. 2. No real-life religious figures, no matter how questionable their veracity. Slippery slope, and all that. My picks, off the top of my head: 1. Jean-Luc Picard. (Could there be a more plesant dinner guest?) 2. Adam Link (From _I, Robot_) 3. Jane Lane (From TV’s _Daria_) 4. Abraham Van Helsing (From \* Dracula\*) 5. Gandalf 6. Hamlet (From _The Happy Teddy Bear’s Magical Forest Adventure_, obviously) I’m still trying to figure out parties that I can invite Conan the Librarian, Gollum, and Cliff Clavin from _Cheers_ to, respectively. ---
