That little whiff of sulphur and ozone you get when you light a match.
I love the smell of creosote. On a summer day wood that has been soaked my it really attracts my attention. Probably, it causes drain bamage.
I love that smell too. Cresote’s banned from sale now in this country, but I still have some in the garage. 🙂

Turpentine. It plus the smell of basement creates a terribly strong nostalgic feeling.
Gasoline (although I guess that doesn’t count since **Mostly Clueless** likes it too).
.
I always liked the smell of gasoline, but the newer pump nozzles are so efficient at holding all the vapors in it’s a far cry from the old days, when the entire establishments were redolent with the stuff.

In a different vein I’ve always imagined there’s a peculiar jet-fuel smell at LAX which my mind automatically associates with going on a trip. Since I never travel for business, and all my trips have been for fun, it’s a very pleasant association.

I like the smell of diesel fuel/jet fuel/kerosene or whatever other incarnation it is in.

Skunks smell unique but not really bad to me. They smell like puppy breath.

The smell of fireworks and gunpowder brings back good memories.

Candle smoke. I don’t understand why people use snuffers.

Diesel engine exhaust. Reminds me of riding the school bus.

Melting wax crayons.

Potting soil, the pre-packaged kind. Oddly enough, I hate patchouli, which smells like potting soil to me, but not _quite_.

Yes! Freshly treated wood ties on train tracks. I smell something similar in fresh driveway sealant.

That sweetish petrochemical odor when liquid plastic is cooling? I kinda like that, too.

Hot drivers on an electric commuter train? Don’t mind that at all.

French Morbier cheese (the kind with the thin layer of wood ash through the center). It tastes better than it smells, but it smells like a pretty woman’s feet after a long walk in leather sandals.

I guess I better add that one too. A pretty woman’s feet after a long walk in leather sandals.

Oh, and the sandals. _Sigh._

I like “combination smells.”

Turpentine and instant coffee with powdered creamer (reminds me of my first art teacher’s studio)

Gasoline and wooden garage (reminds my of my great-uncle’s gas station)

The smell of ozone after a close lightning strike.

The smell of cut wood lingering on my husband after he has been a carpenter all day.

The smell of cigarette smoke, especially the smell of tar, like on fingers.

Smell of a tent.

Count me in on that one too.

I also like the smell of my boyfriend when he is slightly sweaty (not disgusting-gross, just maybe not quite April-fresh). I habe read before that smell is a large, subconscious part of attraction. In my case at least, I would definitely agree.

**The Weird One** does not speak for all of us…well not me anyways. Cow manure, horse manure, human manure, you can keep it all.

Contrary to what George thinks, it’s not a good thing.

WD-40

There should be a cologne in that scent but if there was, I would probably attack the first guy I smelled wearing it.
