I’ve already told my husband, should I take the old dirt nap before he does (and the odds are for it, considering the early grave he’s driving me to) that I want the song “I’m Going Home” from the original Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack played at my funeral. Then after everybody gets through boo-hooing (or screamlaughing, whichever) they can get up and do “The Time Warp” right afterwards. I think in my case it’d be a fitting send-off. 🙂 ---

If I’m gonna die, I’ll at least make my funeralgoers suffer through my bizzare musical tastes. We’ll start off easy with `Pie Jesu'' from Andrew Lloyd Webber's *Requiem*, then hit them with Tom Waits' `Dirt in the Ground’’ and finish with ``The Diamond Sea’’ by Sonic Youth, the album version. 20 minutes of guitar noise, muahaha. ---

Speaking of the Pogues reminds me of the Ireland concert which reminds me of \*\* Chris DeBurgh\*\* and “Don’t Pay the Ferryman”, the wonderful live version from that concert where the audience sings along. Not a bad way to go ---

Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. For several reasons: 1. I will not have to hear them. 2. All those people who in life professed to care about me will be required to prove their friendship by listening. 3. If I have not been embalmed properly and am in fact alive but in a deep coma or apopleptic state, the sound of bagpipes, much like the sound of someone trying to murder a pig by inserting it into a live cat will surely awaken me. I will rise from my coffin, look at the group of men wearing dresses, performing what looks suspiciosly like a conjugal act with an octopus, and tell them to cut the &_)(_#@ racket. -b ---

1. I know it’s trite, but Amazing Grace (as performed by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards) would be cool. Followed by… 2. “Worthy is the Lamb/Amen” from Handel’s Messiah. Appropriate, and if it gets the mourners thinking of me singing in the heavenly choir, so much the better. 3. Then, “Siegfried’s Funeral March” from Wagner’s Gotterdammerung. Appropriate, and if it gets the mourners thinking of me kickin’ in the doors to Valhalla, so much the better. 4. Finally, “Fight for California”. Nothing like a good college fight song to get everbody up. 🙂 ---
