Phil Lesh wrote “Box of Rain” as a departing gift for his father, who was dying of cancer at the time. I was at the Hampton show in the mid 80s when they brough it back into rotation. It has always been a favorite. Right now the song that describes my life is “Our House,” by CSNY. I hate the song, but it is apt. ---
