I also thought of _Alice’s Restaurant_, and the follow-up version is even funnier. I also like King Missle _Detachable Penis_ and the Limeliters _Generic Uptempo Folk Song_ _Just A Gigolo_ was written by Irving Caeser and Lionello Casucci, based on a german song, and (as far as I can find out) was first a hit sometime in the 30’s for Bing Crosby. I don’t know the date Louis Prima recorded it, as I can only find the rerelease dates. ---

I also think Blink 182’s _Ben Wah Balls_ deserves an award for trying so hard to be funny, cramming itself with sexual references and incest jokes, yet still ends up being not humourous at all. Kind of like if I told you that Eminem, The Pope and St Francis of Assissi walk into a bar, but I completely fail to deliver on the punchline. And speaking of Eminem, he can be pretty funny, but I think his finest moment is in _Who Knew_ when he brings up the real issues in society: “ain’t they got the same moms and dads who got mad when I asked if they liked violence?” And told me that my tape taught 'em to swear What about the make-up you allow your 12-year-old daughter to wear? (Hmm?)" Eminem. He kills his wife in front of his own daughter, but he’s still concerned about little girls wearing make up. That’s a man with priorities. And finally, cuz this post is far too long, I’ll mention the Electric Six’s new song, _Gay Bar_, sung with all the camp enthusiasm the Electric Six can muster: “Girl, I’ve got something to put in you At the gay bar” ---

Roadwalker, Well, if you want that song (“Angel Baby”), just follow that link and download it - or at least listen to it. Sorry if it sounded as if I was really dumping on Rosie & the Originals. (Well okay, I REALLY WAS dumping on them.) The thing that makes the song funny is that the mistakes are just plentiful enough without being overtly ridiculous. (For example, if the piano were played throughout the whole song with somebody’s fists - that would be just pathetic - or downright boring). Basically, they were trying the best they could and it’s funny they come up just short of the mark. Anyway, the song managed to make it to #5 on Billboard’s Top 100 on January 23, 1961 so the group did have some degree of success. ---

Yeah I know it’s a goofy sounding song. R&the O’s were from West Covina CA and it has been known to be a “Crip gang” song. I just like it for the memories. ---

**Southern Culture On The Skids** has some funny songs–surprised no one’s mentioned them yet. _House of Bamboo_ is a fun song and I particularly like _Camel Walk_. ---

I like the Zappa Fillmore East as well. The whole album tells the story of the band, who has a hit on the charts with a bullet (zing!), and the groupies who want to come in their bus if they play them the song. So, they get around to playing the song and it is “Happy Together,” which is doubly ironic because some of the guys in the Mothers of Invention at the time were previously in the Turtles. So it really was their song… But my favorite crazy Zappa songs are Montana and Dinah-Moe-Humm off of Over-Nite Sensation. Or Uncle Remus off of Apostrophe’: “We look pretty sharp in these clothes Unless we get sprayed with a hose It ain’t bad in the day If they squirt it our way Except in the winter When it’s froze And it’s hard when it hits on your nose” All time funniest, probably Dean Martin “Wives and Lovers.” Get that and the Louis Prima “Just a Gigolo” and a few other gems on the Ultra-Lounge Wild, Cool, and Swingin’ Disc. Good buy. ---

Beck’s “Debra” sounds all Princesque _I saw her at JC Penny, I think her name tag said Jenny… I wanna get with youuuu and your sister, I think her name’s Debra_ or something to that effect. the lyrics are funny as hell. someone help me out, there is an arteest, name Dick Cheese or Richard Cheese and he does exculsive comedy songs. I can’t think of any names of the songs though. ---

I laugh out loud whenever I hear the theme song to Orgazmo by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Not quite OP answer though. The funniest ‘serious’ band has definately got to be TISM. Even beats Frank Zappa. e.g. "…I turned on the telly I just went, like, “Whoa!” And used the remote To flick through the shows! I think I’ll watch footy I know it’s not x-treme But why take it to the max When you can take it to the mean?
