When we were kids, we used to sit outside at a friend’s house smoking pot and flicking grasshoppers into the web of one of those suckers. Man, do they move when dinner arrives! It was endless hours of entertainment! But if I saw one in the house, I’d smash it with a rock. ---

We had a pet spider on the back patio that we fed all kinds of bugs over a period of several months. Nice big web. It was neet to see her wrap up our offering and then suck the juices out. She was one of them big grey and brown garden spiders. She would have broke the rock. ---

I’m an arachnophobic adult, but as a kid I used to catch those big black and yellow suckers in the field behind my school. My friends and I would take our plastic baggies from lunch and compete to see who could bag the biggest spider. I’d probably vomit if I tried to do that today.
