Each area of the arts and humanities has a postmodernist movement, but their meaning and evolution have diverged widely over the decades. (Their origins, too. We’ve had several threads arguing over the start of postmodernism in literature and who belongs on which side of the divide.)

Also, developments in science usually precede what turns up in philosophy, and thereby, cultural studies.
