As for the OP and some follow-up comments… I occasionally find the “It’s been done before” posts a little dismissive, myself. The phrase is neutral on the face of it, but I think it’s been used at times to be condescending. It’s potentially inflammatory, so I’d advise people to use a kinder wording if they want to post a quick link to a previous similar thread. In other words, I agree with your sentiment. However, I don’t think it’s consistent for you to then turn around and say that the eye-rolling smiley isn’t taking the disagreement up a notch. Eye-rolling _is_ insulting where I come from. Even if it wasn’t, it’s not fair, IMHO, to say you have the right to interpet Coldfire’s posts as mean-spirited, whereas everyone else should interpret your posts and smileys in a positive light, and as nothing more than calm and rational. Ambiguity goes both ways. Oooooh, I like that… it’s a tautology! ---

The first person gave me permission–or more accurately suggested that I post it, in fact even told me which one of their many insults they wanted me to post.
