There’s a series of the old segments capsuled into “Sesame Street Unpaved”. They’re only screened in the US, so I don’t know anything about them. Unfortunately.

If they were on DVD I’d snap them up.

I’m amazed that Big Bird/ Oscar still play such important roles on the show. Carroll Spinney is about 72 years old now and it’s gotta be tough for him to work for long in the Big Bird costume.

Kermit & co. (along with the late Henson) are getting their own set of [U.S. postage stamps](http://shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/postal_store_non_ssl/browse_content/stampReleaseDisplay.jsp?OID=8588) in September.

Sesame Street (depicted by Big Bird) already has a [U.S. postage stamp](http://www.usps.com/images/stamps/99/bigbird.htm).

Maybe Kermit made [a critical mistake](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=6346092) in designating Elmo as his successor.
