# What the hell is WebLeach, and why does it hate the SDMB?

This morning when I tried to open up my high speed access (Road Runner), I got some kind of “Access Denied by WebLeach” response. I got the same damn thing when I tried to get into the SDMB.
It says: Deny by WebLeach (Deny by allow http access control list rules)
I can’t even get into Road Runner at all.
I can open my AOL, but not my high speed. That’s how I got here.
I Googled it, but I couldn’t find anything that would help me access my high speed.
Anyone have any ideas?

Ignore that last post. It looks like WebLeach is an internet filtering software. Where are you posting from?

Nope. It’s definitely WebLeach. The “deny” remark I posted was cut-and-pasted from their response.

I’m in Minnesota. It seems WebLeach is a Chinese filtering program. I don’t have any idea why it’s affecting me here.

If you are posting from home, you might try to see if you can uninstall the program.

Today’s lessons learned:
1. Don’t ever waste your time trying to contact Road Runner. You get funneled through 6 layers of nitwits before someone from Time Warner Cable (who owns Road Runner) says they can’t help you.
2. I found the offensive program by using Hijack This. I disabled it, and everything is peachy again.
