I’m surprised nobody has mentioned [**bluing**](http://www.walco-linck.com/bluette.html) yet. It’s a substance that counteracts the tendency of chlorine bleach to yellow fabrics. (The link is to one common brand, which does not constitute an endorsement. There are several brands out there.)
