Mixing regular L&O and SVU… - every time Stabler’s kids and his trials and tribulations over having 4 daughters is shown - every time Ice-T poses as a thug - every time Benson refers to her unknown rapist father - every time one of the cops or DAs becomes a victim - every time you think McCoy might actually have a shot to make it with the new hot ADA - every time TNT shows the L&O “drama” commercial - every time Briscoe or McCoy order a club soda - every guest apperance from a cross-over show And if you’re really suicidal - every “bump bump” ---

Chug your whole drink any time they show a new episode in a month that is not a sweeps month. \*If you pass out before the end of the show, don’t worry they’ll rerun it in a couple weeks and then again in another couple weeks and so on… How about Criminal Intent? -Down a shot anytime Goren displays some obscure knowledge (such as the appearance and value and of 15th century Basque sheep shears). ---

I can’t believe I forgot this one first time around: When the person finding the body at the beginning says “Oh my God!”, drink. Drink again if the person yells “Call 911!” or asks for a cell phone. If the person says something **other** than “Oh my God!”, chug. ---

Drink every time the detectives (usually Briscoe) realize that a phony address would put the place, as they always say it, “in the middle of the East River.” … every time the defense lawyer is one of the semi-regulars, such as Shambala Green or Danielle Melnick. … every time they mention _Molineux_, _Rosario_, _Brady_ or any of those other precedents that keep coming up. ---

What a great thread… makes me glad I’m not a drinking man, or I’d be in deep shit. I’ve got one to add… _Take a drink every time somebody mentions the Masucci (sp?) crime family._ I swear, I think there was one season where that was every episode. ---

Three drinks every time a main character’s personal life becomes a major focus of the episode. Finish the drink if a main character is basically the person on trial. Drink every time a female medical examiner makes a joking insult towards Briscoe. Drink twice every time the prime suspect of an investigation shifts to someone else. Drink every time a character is introduced who is so unnecessary that (s)he must be an additional suspect at the least, the real culprit at the worst. Avoid drinking if you can name the “headline” this episode is ripped from (if applicable), and can already guess the key difference between the episode and real life (e.g. it was the girlfriend that did it instead of the rap star). Drink every time the defense makes race a factor. Finish the drink if the defense attorney is white. Drink every time the guilty party is an immediate family member of the prime suspect. Drink twice every time there’s a mistrial. Drink every time the DA mentions political factors in giving orders to the ADAs. ---

Drink every time an assistant ADA reacts to one of McCoy’s borderline-unethical ploys by saying “I don’t want to lose my license over this!” Drink whenever an actor who had previously played a defense attorney is convicted of murder. Chug if a defense attorney happens to _be_ the murderer. ---

From the early years: Drink every time Capt. Kragen weasles out of the investigation when things got too hot. IE, “Don’t let whatever you do get back to this department!” then locks himself in his office. and for all eps: Drink every time the detectives are with a doctor/psychiatrist/nurse and DESPITE IT BEING A MURDER INVESTIGATION FOR A PATIENT THEY TREATED AND DEVOTED PART OF THEIR LIVES TO, they say “That would violate patient/doctor confidentiality.” Same whenever an attorney says “That would violate attorney/client privelege.” ---

**Knowed Out** : Actually, that’s true – the attorney-client privilege does in fact continue after the death of the client. The privilege belongs to the client; the lawyer can’t just waive it unilaterally, even if the client dies. ---

Drink every time Adam cautions McCoy to handle the rich, well-connected defendant with kid gloves. Drink every time Adam refers to the above as a “good man”. Drink every time McCoy self-righteously rejoins with, “I treat all defendants the same! No special treatment!” Drink every time the black gunman is found to be working for a rich white person. Drink every time McCoy brings charges against a corporation when the actual criminal can’t be charged. Drink every time Briscoe and Green fight with McCoy when the charges get tossed out on a technicality.
