The top scientists at ‘Searching for Bigfoot, Inc.’ were supposed to have a press conference today to display all their evidence of the amazing discovery of a Bigfoot carcass. Their claim has been all over the news, but I can’t find the results of their presentation. What does the DNA say? ---

[/QUOTE] I was able to catch the last half of the conference after some technical difficulties. There should be two more pictures coming, and they handed out DNA results to the press. I suppose it should be up in a few hours, but as of yet I cannot find anything new. Cryptomundo, and [cryptozoology.com](http://cryptozoology.com) are both down from server overload as is the site of the body-finders. The photos show a close up of the tongue and teeth, and a second image of a live creature apparently. They were two small for me to view properly online via streaming video. ---

Cool! I have a $100 bet with my 11 year old son that this isn’t really bigfoot. He’s a True Believer. He doesn’t have $100 so I don’t know what I’ll get when I win. ---

I just saw a quick story on local CBS news about this that showed a couple of excerpts from the press conference. From what I could tell, they wanted to get across the following information: 1. We found it. 2. It’s bigfoot. 3. No one else has ever found it. 4. We found it. 5. It’s really bigfoot. 6. We’re awesome because we found it. 7. We found it. Color me skeptical, as well. Care to talk about anything other than, “we’re awesome because we found it and no one else has ever found it”? ---

I suspect it’ll be a looooong time before DNA evidence is brought forth. I also really doubt any truly unbiased scientists will be given the opportunity to examine the sculpture. I mean corpse. ---

Let me just point out that to some artists an ape suit in the original box with roadkill added would be a sculpture. Of course to others it would be a Mixed Media piece, so YMMV. All I know is, if I found something that I thought might be Bigfoot, I wouldn’t call a press conference until after it had been examined every way to Sunday, and even then I’d be veeeeery cautious. Science by publicist ain’t science. ---

[/QUOTE] Actually, I saw the whole conference and I didn’t get that impression at all. The story and explanations were curt and straight to the point. and the bulk of the time Whitten and Dyer answered questions to the best of their ability. There was never any mention of their business, they didn’t shill for it once, except for the hats they wore that were illegible on camera. ---

My two local papers both covered it, since it was around here, and they were less than impressed. The picture looked phony, and the three samples sent to one place came back: 1. Unidentified 2. Human 3. Possum The explanation for the last was that Bigfoot must have eaten some possum. The basic impression was that these guys produced a lot less evidence than they told the press they would. The stories also mentioned that the first release was on YouTube with one of the discoverers posing as an expert. The whole thing stinks of hoax and wishful thinking, at best. ---

Well, no big surprise there but these sort of things really bug me. All these false claims of Bigfoots and el Chupacabras will only lead to complacence so when the real Bigfoot or el Chupacabra show up they’ll just be able to walk right up and take our homes, jobs and women!
