[Trump threatens North Korea with ‘fire and fury’ as nuclear fears escalate](http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-08-09/trump-says-north-korea-to-be-met-with-fire-and-fury/8787990) The US President warns North Korea “will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen” if it continues to threaten the United States, as Japan warns Kim Jong-un could have developed the technology to put a nuclear warhead on an ICBM. Isn’t it good fortune that Trump wasn’t POTUS during the Cuban missile crisis, though he’d have likely missed that while playing golf. Any possibility some of the saner world leaders could put these two indolent spoilt brats with bad hairdos into an enclosure like say a sandbox where they could whack each other about the head with plastic shovels, throw sand and tantrums while the rest of us get on with life? ---

I really don’t have any problems with the USA stating openly that we will stomp North Korea like a bug if they launch a single missile at us. Honestly, I’ve said for perhaps 15 years or more that we should tell them straight out that each time they threaten us, we will not speak to them, we will not negotiate jack shit with them for one year. We finally get to speaking and they do it again, done. We pull back for another year. If they actually want to sit down and negotiate with us directly, then they should make no more threats, period. I don’t give a flying fuck if it is rhetorical or for internal consumption. Threaten us, get fuck all nothing for your troubles. ---

A few days ago I was much less worried about and attack on or from North Korea. The combination of that statement from an imbecile with his finger on the button and numerous intelligence leaks rapidly upgrading North Korea’s ability to hit US territory with nuclear weapons is making me very nervous. When intelligence leaks ramp up they’re purpose is to shift public opinion and provide cover for the decision makers. ---

North Korea has already threatened U.S. territory. No fucking shit, Sherlock. North Korea always makes threats. It’s what North Korea does. Anyone who would expect North Korea not to make threats is stupid and lacks any experience dealing with belligerent people. Trump will order war against North Korea. He will order a nuclear launch. He will do this _solely_ to distract the American public from his own problems. With any luck, the U.S. military will ignore him. But at this point, I will not be surprised if the U.S. military takes out Trump in a coup. ---

The coup would be preferable to nuclear war. I’m surprised this scenario hasn’t played out: “Hey, Jared! Get Mueller on the horn and tell them if he doesn’t end the investigation and declare me the most innocent person ever to have walked the earth, so help me I’m going to launch every missile we have at Russia and put an end to civilization!” North Korea is going to have nukes and missiles. They are not going to fire them in a fit of suicidal madness. The US, on the other hand, has a more unstable leader. ---

Or in March 2016 when he said he would not refuse to use nuclear weapons in the Middle East? Or when he said South Korea and Japan should get nuclear weapons? Or when he wanted a military parade through Washington D.C. just like they have in Moscow? ---
