The _Duckman_ TV series… it went for four seasons (Same as Futurama!), yet to the best of my knowledge, it’s not available on DVD, retail or otherwise.

Same goes for _Parker Lewis Can’t Lose_, _Weird Science_, and _The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles_ (I’ve seen them on VHS, but not DVD).

They’re already doing second editions of some Hitchcock DVDs – even lesser-known ones like “Shadow of a Doubt” (which is lesser known, but definitely not of lesser quality – it is reportedly Hitch’s personal favorite of his films). Yet “Rebecca,” the only one of his movies to win the Oscar for Best Picture, isn’t out??

“Rebecca” is available from Criterion. I have it.

> "Last night, I dreamt I went to Manderley again." Rebeccas haunting opening line conjures the entirety of Hitchcocks romantic, suspenseful, elegant film. A young woman (Joan Fontaine) believes her every dream has come...

The ones I’m keeping an eye out for are:

The Heiress
My Cousin Rachel
Jane Eyre (the Joan Fontaine/Orson Welles one)
Kenneth Branaugh’s Hamlet
Peter’s Friends

And I’d love to get the 1980-ish version of Rebecca starring Jeremy Brett and Joanna David.

It’s supposed to be coming out with the next movie, which means sometime next year. I’ve been seeing them on eBay thoguh, but why pay that much for it twice?

> Mystery Science Theater 3000 the Movie. I understand it’s been released twice on DVD, but in a very lmited capacity, and the first release wasn’t satisfying.
>
> The Thief of Baghdad – the 1924 Douglas Fairbanks original, restored by Rohauer, with tinting and a full orchstral score. I taped this off PBS, but a.) I don;'t think they ever released it, on any format; and b.) I now learn that even that version was not complete.
>
> Judge Dee and the Monastery Murders – One of my favorite TV movies. AFAIK, never released in any format. Again, my copy’s from TV.
>
> The Day of the riffids - the British TV version that runs about six hours, not he American version from circa 1963. Faithful to the book.
>
> The Adventures of Mark Twain – Will Vinton’s underapprecated masterpiece of Claymation.
>
> The Last of Sheila – as far as I know, this hasn’t been released on DVD. My all-time favorite mystery.
>
> A Careful Man --obscure TV production of great Frederick Forsyth mystery, perfectly faithful to his story.

Sheila and Twain are indeed available on DVD. Frankenstein and MST3K are only available used (I knew this, when I noted that both had once been available on DVD, but noted that they no longer were), and at raised prices (MST3K is going for almost $150 on DVD!)

The others don’t seem to be available in the US on DVD.

How about all the rest of the seasons of The Larry Sanders Show?
They released Season 1 something like 5 years ago and then never continued with it. I’d still love to see the series finale with Jim Carrey.

Rebecca was out - it’s out of print - note the high price on amazon. Some other Hitchcock films were also available by Criterion, but they’re out of print too.

I’m still waiting for the old (1934)
“Treasure Island” with Lionel Barrymore.

Netflix is really weird when it comes to concert DVDs. I don’t know if it’s a property rights issue, or what. Usually, Netflix doesn’t even list a concert DVD until several weeks or even months after its release. I’m still waiting for Anthrax “Attack of the Killer A’s” which has been in print for many years.

If you’re really desperate, Blockbuster Online has SMS in their catalog, but I don’t know if it’s actually available. (I cancelled my BBO account last month.)

Don’t laugh:

The Blue Bird – Shirley Temple (I’ve already ordered the silent film that’s currently available)

Stop Making Sense

House of Dark Shadows

Night of Dark Shadows (prefereable restored director’s cut, but I’ll take anything)

Tobor the 8th Man (Series)

The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T

Trouble in Tahiti (PBS Broadcast)

Mass, A theatre piece for actors, singers, dancers, and musicians (PBS Broadcast)

Jack: A Flash Fantasy (PBS Broadcast)

Q.E.D (complete series – 1 season)

When Things Were Rotten (Series)

Wizards and Warriors (series)

and a ditto for:

Duckman
Young Indiana Jones
Kenneth Branaugh’s Hamlet
Parker Lewis
Wierd Science (Series)
Eric the Viking
Night Court
Non-diddled Star Wars

And that’s all I can think of right now.

BTW: My Briscoe County wish has been granted, so, anything is possible.
