Well, the scans came back negative, so YAHOOOO! He wants me to see a dermatologist for a screening just to make sure I’m not at risk for skin cancer. I did mention to the PA about what my RD had said, she got this “uh-oh” look on her face and said that CD normally gets these tests 4-6 weeks after radiation is over. In any event…the scans came back negative!!
YIPPPPEEEEEEE!
::does a little celebratory dance on behalf of ivylass::
I daresay you’ve already figured this out, but I will mention it anyway: do not go to any of your appointments alone. Take your SO or a friend, and have that person keep notes. It is so easy to miss something.
When I was going through treatments for breast cancer, I went alone all the time. Not just for the treatments, but for all my appointments. I shouldn’t have done that, because a couple of times I was confused and frightened more than I needed to be. It’s a long story, but I should have had more sense.
I am very glad for you! I hope your conversation will get that CD reading the paper and maybe even adjusting his practice and save others from being in the spot you feared you were going to be.
YAHOOOOO again. Good news, indeed.
My surgeon told me when he gave me the diagnosis to bring Ivylad along to all my appointments. Yesterday was the first one he’d not been able to come to.
