Late Saturday afternoon, I was making bread. So I kneaded the dough as usual and put it in the airing cupboard to rise as usual. Except it didn’t rise very much. So I knocked it back, kneaded it again and left it to rise. It didn’t. So I left it overnight. Still not significantly risen. And it’s still the same now. Should I add some water and some sugar and give it another chance? Or just toss it? ---

So I knocked it back (“withdrew it”), kneaded (“counted”) it again and left it to rise. It didn’t. So I left it overnight. Still not significantly risen. And it’s still the same now. Should I add some water (“planning”) and some sugar (“professional investment advice”) and give it another chance? Or just toss (“take to Vegas”) it? Lame, I know.😛 Hey I’m bored. ---

I would say that the yeast is pretty well not functioning … If you really dnt want to waste the flour that went into the dough, you could take it, bake it lightly and bash it into nuggets and feed the birds with it … ANd next time, proof your yeast to make sure it is active enough =) If you proofed it, and it was good then maybe the dough got exposed to too much cold, or got a bit too warm and the yeast died? ---

Pft. Roll it flat, brush it with butter, cinnamon, and sugar, roll it up, slice it, and bake it. May be chewy instead of fluffy, but cinnamon fixes everything. I do this with leftover pie crust dough. ---

you could always turn it into crackers/flatbread ---

Work it real well, flatten it and bake. Home made hardtack. ---
