My brother’s birthday is coming up.
He loves building & upgrading computers, creating web sites, making Flash presentations.
What’s a cool techie gift these days?
That falls within the price range of a book to small PC accessory ($25-$60).

I’ve got this [clock](http://www.thinkgeek.com/cubegoodies/lights/59e0/default.asp) on my “fun geek toys” list, and it’s only $20. Thinkgeek has quite a few items that would match your criteria. Take a few minutes to browse around their site, you’ll probably see something he likes.

He has web cams.
But he may not have a pen drive. I’ll also check out thinkgeek.
Feel free to also recommend cool web sites or shareware.
Ideas & software tips may interest him as much as a $$ gift,
since he buys so much PC crap, um, I mean useful things, anyway.
A couple of days ago, he was learning how to make Active Server Pages, but that’s just his latest kick.

If he really has everything then he should already have a pen drive 🙂 If he doesn’t then get one for sure. Are you able to narrow down “everything” at all? For about 20 bucks (also from thinkgeek) You might like to check this out

In reference to the toothbrush with a USB connector,
I thought many people in Japan were more concerned with ear wax removal devices than toothbrushes. : D
Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like a pen drive then, although I’ll probably ask him if he already has one & if so, then maybe the Atari joystick for the nostalgia factor.

If you suddenly end up with $120, I’d suggest a [green laser pointer](http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/lights/5a47/). As a fellow techie who has everything, I’d be ecstatic to receive such a gift. Failing that, I’d have to second the USB Pen Drive. Those things rock. But _don’t_ go with an Amazon gift certificate unless you’re sure this particular geek has nothing against Amazon. Many geeks despise them for their dubious privacy practices and stupid “1-click” patents.

Another vote for USB pen drive. Very handy for moving moderate amounts of datat between computers. Those LED flashlights are nice too.

I have a Leatherman Squirt, which is extremely useful for Joe Geek to spontaneously disassembl-- er, repair things on the spot. I have the P4, not the S4; pliers are more useful than scissors.

How about one of those small RC cars called Bit Char-g? Just search for them at Yahoo, and you´ll probably find an us-retailer.
(I once posted a picture of a male realdoll at a Swedish version of am I hot or not? He got decent points 😃 )
