We waited so long to name a cat once (just couldn’t find the right one) that she started answering to “New Cat.” Her official name is Lilly (actually, Lillian Gish), but DH still calls her Nougat. ---

A cousin had a cat name TC (the cat). Had a roommate with a dog named Dave. Yes, it was odd calling out for him when he got lost. Met three new ‘Daves’ though. Have a dog named Rozee. A visiting friend named Rosie was a bit taken back when we told her to go lie down. ---
