Less populated than in TV shows as well - TV shows seem to be built around the idea that ER personnel live in the ward, but they don’t. We have elections on Sunday. I can’t wait till they’re over so we can go back to nagging about politicians in a general fashion, rather than at dumbass slogans in particular. I’ve been running into people who try to convince me that "nobody votes because “that’s the way workers/people from here/my religious group must do it!” while the campaigns for both PSOE (our current guv’mint party) and PNV (the current guv’mint party for the Basque Country, where I’m working) are both based on exactly those premises. The whole country seems to get a case of shut-sphincter any time a national election looms, complicated by sewn-tight-eyes. ---

Check out Airman’s pit thread… “Over” would be even more like what triggered his thread. I’ll see your IAF and raise you ADENA (frankly, I don’t think that raising the Spanish AF would do me much good, our conservationist groups are much more belligerent). ---

[/QUOTE] Good Moooooorning! I’m, curious. Did your other doctor “miss” the diagnosis, or just prescribe you the wrong type of antibiotic. Most commonly UTIs are caused by Gram negative bacteria, so docs will tend to prescribe that type of antibiotic before any cultures are able to come back. Perhaps you had some type of Staph UTI. I apologize for not being my silly ol’ self, a young baby has just died and they’re going to stop treating a guy who has been bleeding to death for four months now. Please donate blood. ---

Good morning! It’s my last grand jury day - yay! So I’m home, showered, and in my fleece robe, caffeinating till I have to don real clothing. Apparently we had a major T-storm overnight, and I slept thru the whole thing. \*\*FCD \*\* said he woke up and thought he’d overslept because it was so bright from the lightning. Me? - oblivious. But I was quite exhausted, and I feel more rested today than I have in a while, so there’s that. Regarding \*\*BooFae \*\* - wasn’t she going away for a while, or am I thoroughly cornfuzzled? I’m far too lazy to scan old threads… So, yeah, the rest of my plans for today. After jurying and touring the jail, I’m going to take the trash and recycling to the convenience center. I need to do some laundry. And I should probably push the vacuum over the rugs a bit. I also need to clean the kitteh footprints off the half wall around the foyer. Some are from Brandy, some are from Taz, all are smudgy and icky looking. I should probably stop and get some crackers while I’m out, too. I think we’ll have veggie soup for supper - I’ve got some frozen that I came across in the garage freezer. That’ll be an easy supper. Even easier than mac-n-cheese. I guess that’ll be the day’s excitement. rah. ---

[/QUOTE] Long ago, I drank the corpie koolaid, and worked for the Ross Perot era EDS. The culture was one of blind conformance. They were very big on the ‘soaring with eagles’ schtick, and I brought out the weasels and jet engines counter one day. The management was aghast at what I said, and immediately designated me to not be a team player. Within EDS, that was the highest insult that could be made to an employee. I took it as a badge of honor. Obviously, I didn’t last long, but I did leave under my own power. ---
