What tugs at your heartstrings?

The Counting Crows song “Long December” can bring me to tears. It’s not just the lyrics to the song but it also reminds me of what was going on in my life when it was on the radio all the time.

I can’t listen to Frank Sinatra’s original recording of “Someone To Watch Over Me” anymore. It’s a nice enough song, but back in the early 1990s, my brother and I made a video montage of old family photos on videotape, set to music. We used that song for our mother’s chapter. She passed away in 1996.

News stories about a child being abused (I’ve learned not to watch those, not because I don’t care but because it’s just so incredibly disturbing to me).
