What TV shows are you NOT watching this season?

I agree. I like it, but if it’s going to be full of subtle in-jokes and there’s a need for me to do research to understand it, I can easily do without it.
I don’t have the time to spend hours searching for fake websites about the “real” Hanso Corporation just to watch the show.

Grey’s Anatomy, definitely. Possibly Gilmore Girls, too. I’ll watch the first two or three eps and if they don’t straighten things out, I’m out of there. I’m tired of Rory. I’m tired of Lorelei.

StG

Rory I can see; she’s a selfish little bitch who thinks she’s a lovable little angel. But how can you POSSIBLY be tired of Lorelai? Are you mad?

I overidentify with Lorelai Gilmore to a disturbing degree, and even I’m a little tired of Lorelai. Mostly because last season she didn’t behave much like Lorelai. I know she took a beating last season, but much of it could have been avoided if she’d just opened her damn mouth, and since when is she unlikely to do that? Lorelai has many faults, but given that the greatest of them is an epic level of self-involvement, it’s completely unbelievable to me that she would so passively accept Luke’s crap. It’s no fun to watch her being silently miserable.

Oh, now you’re just being silly. Lorelai wasn’t even on the SHOW for the latter half of last season; that was Lauren Graham playing another character who just looked like Lorelai; probably the passive, near-identical younger sister Emily thought she aborted but whom the doctor actually transposed into his wife’s uterus.

Hmm…not even I can rationalize this one.

But you’ve put your finger on my problem with the season; the whole Lorelai/Luke trainwreck was a transparent attempt to delay a wedding/keep Scott Patterson hanging while they renegotiated his contract. The thing is, they’d already broken Luke & Lorelai up in a much more believeable fashion the previous year, in a way much more consonant with their characters. This was just annoying.

Pretty much all of them.

I am quite skeptical about 30 Rock. Although I quite like Tina Fey, I’m not a fan of Tracy Morgan nor Rachel Dratch. Although I will try it, I suspect that I will not be watching it regularly.

Las Vegas - I don’t think they know if the show should be a comedy, action adventure or a drama or what - and if they don’t know, I’m not going to sit around and wait for them to figure it out. Plus, how many surprise characters from the past can they pull out of that hat? Seems like every week, some long lost dad/mom/brother/ex-wife/ex-husband/army buddy etc would suddenly appear with a huge backstory.

Cold Case - plots got more far-fetched and those godawful music montages at the end started to work my last nerve.

Without A Trace - who cares if his wife and little girl moved to Chicago or wherever, and after about 5 episodes, they all started to seem like the same plot, just different names and ages.

The 4400 - which is about how many backstories they have and I was getting lost and confused and as I mentioned on a recent thread, I think the actor who plays Tom is the worst actor on television today.

I gave up on Invasion (and so did the network) half way through last season.

BTW, is Surface coming back? I kind of liked that one.

Everything except Battlestar Galactica, same as last year.
