The present party? I don’t think they could work with Ronald Reagan.
Even the most active public speaking tour leaves a heck of a lot more time for relaxing with family than the Presidency does. He’ll surely cut back his hours and his stress, but that’s just because no job takes up more hours or causes more stress than being President.
He’s got more than three years left - don’t rule it out.
That’s because you have a distorted view of what’s going on. Republicans can work with Obama and have when they are actually somewhat close together. But on most issues they are so far apart there’s just no way. Hillary Clinton is a lot closer to the Republicans than Obama is, so they’ll work with her just fine.
Oh, so you’re one of those people that actually believes Obama is a liberal. Fascinating.
A lot more liberal than Bill Clinton.
I’d like to see him go back to Congress. (John Quincy Adams did it.)
Of course, he could probably be Mayor of Chicago or Governor of Illinois if he wanted to.
I’d prefer him on the Supreme Court personally. Of course it’d be hard for Obama to be confirmed under the current conditions.
So the guy that supported the GOP healthcare plan that Clinton rejected is MORE liberal than Clinton. Huh. Good to know.
Yes considering unlike Clinton Obama supports gay marriage, and opposes DADT/DOMA and may very sign a new Glass-Steagall into law which Clinton helped repeal.
Obama supported the health care law that could pass Congress. As he admitted himself, single payer was his preference if he had his way.
And going back to the Senate wouild be fine for him. He’s a political kind a guy, he’s never done anything else, and he’s not good at management, so the legislature is really the only place for him.
Apparently he is.
Why, is the ACA being implemented as envisioned on time? Is he in control of events, or do events control him? Is he even in charge of his own administration?
Three strikes says he’s out.
Looks like he’s still in, actually.
Yeah, but he might beat Bush in terms of the speed with which he becomes a lame duck.
Oh, I daresay Obama is in a stronger position now than W was mid-2005.
Doesn’t look like it so far. He looks lost without control of Congress. Past Presidents have been able to get by just fine, even thrive, with the other party in control of Congress.
Yes, but unlike W in 2005, Obama has the advantage of being seriously hated only by idiots, and it does make a difference.
His disapproval is 50%. I’d say not liking Obama is mainstream these days.
