# What type of pistol is this guy holding?

Although much more common than before, crimes committed with handguns are still relatively infrequent around here. So, it’s even more seldom that we get to actually see a picture of one being used during the commission of a crime.

On page 3 of [this pdf from the Toronto Police Service](http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/newsreleases/pdfs/10990.pdf), you’ll see a photo of a guy with what appears to be a _very_ impressive pistol. Although I know next to nothing about firearms, the caliber of his weapon, even to my naive eyes, looks huge. I’m curious to know more specifically what type of gun he’s holding. I did a quick search at Nazarian and found nothing that looked like it.

I used to be a competition handgun shooter but gun guru I am not. OTOH with a bore like that it almost looks more like a paintball gun than a semiauto handgun.
