# What type of weapon is this guy holding?

No kidding. If it was me posing for a baddass “Hey look, I’m holding a gun” pic, I’d go with it too. There’s no way that’s a practical shoulder fired weapon.

Well, it wouldn’t be “posing”, since I’m sure the possibility of having to use such a weapon is real enough over there, but you are right, that particular type of weapon isn’t at all designed to be fired from the shoulder. It is too long and heavy, and there is no place at the front to place the support hand. Normally, the shooter may let off a few rounds from the hip to scare the opposition before finding some cover and support for the bipod.
