Pickled herring. Hairy chests on men. Bag pipes - there is a fire station right down the street and one of the firemen use to stand out front every once in a while and play a couple of songs on the bag pipes. It was so nice. ---

This is weird to say of a movie with the highest domestic gross, but I really like Avatar. It seems to have caught a lot of flak in the years since. There was even an article, I think it was on Slate or Yahoo, that talks about how odd it was that it didn’t make much of a pop culture impression. It doesn’t get quoted, people don’t replay scenes of it, it just seemed to have come and gone ---
