Yeah, those five names seem to come up a lot… **handy, Guinastaisa, tracer, Coldfire, and SPOOFE** (I don’t think that’s in order… but yeah… those would be them) F\_X ---

A few weeks ago I got bored and tried to compile a list of posters with high post counts. Here’s what has been compiled so far. In an effort of utter triviality, I looked up the posting rates of the 10,000 plus posters: ```auto Name Total Posts Posts per Day handy 15219 10.11 Guinastasia 13831 13.68 Coldfire 12558 9.19 Libertarian 12272 9.78 tracer 11056 7.70 SPOOFE 10255 9.25 Duck Duck Goose 10112 9.44 ``` Based on these posting rates, Guinastasia is the only one who will overtake handy. Using Desmostylus’ formula, she will do so in (15219-13831)/(13.68-10.11)=388.8 days, or just over one year from now. ---

On the other hand, I suspect that someone who’s stuck around for over 8000 posts is pretty likely to keep on posting. We wouldn’t be here at all, still, if we didn’t have that certain stick-to-it-iveness. Sort of like cooked spaghetti on the ceiling. Top 25, though… I never realized I was quite so pathetic. And if current rates keep up, it looks like I’ll peak at about 15 or 16. ---

Not sure you’ve got that last part right, **lel**. The order in which those posters overtake **handy** is: **Guinastasia** 389 days **Q.E.D.** 738 days **Mangetout** 1,915 days **Diogenes the Cynic** 2,199 days **NoClueBoy** 2,226 days BTW, **Q.E.D.** won’t get the crown for 833 days, because after he catches **handy** , it’ll take a bit longer to catch up to **Guin**. ---

The trouble with trying to come up with any kind of rule or investigation into post counts is that **Tuba** (most understandably) frowns very sulkily on any kind of data harvest from the system. This is on the grounds that data harvest uses up valuable hamster-resource. I sometimes dream at night of being handed a list of all posters together with post count and date of registration. In the more kinky of these dreams, this is appended to a list of these dopers ages and locations. Oh, the statistics I produce from these! Oh, the correlations! But even the wildest of these dreams eventually goes back to the boring old handmaidens eventually. Damn those handmaidens. I did some analysis once that you might be interested in.
