It was endless, it was tedious, and now it’s over. Yet I still play. It’s such a good game. The only problem is the online stuff, it’s so hard to link up, even with _Horizon_. More than a few times I’ve tried every game on the list and can’t get in. I haven’t played a game of Car Soccer in months because I just can’t connect. It’s very frustrating. Anyway. _Forza Horizon_ and _Black Ops II_ are my current games, with _Forza 4_ and the original _Black Ops_ seeing time occasionally. _MW3_ and _Battlefield 3_ may someday come out again, but I just couldn’t get into them. I really tried, but they didn’t do it for me. ---

I just got Skylanders: Giants, and have dropped a few hundred dollars on the figurines so far and plan to buy more. I am nearly a 27 year old man. There is no excuse for this behavior, but admitting it is the first step, right? ---

I’ve been getting back into _The Sims 3_ (Nightlife edition) again. But my gnat-like attention span prevents me from making any sort of progress. I literally have about 20 different lives going right now. I start up a game live my guy (or gal) through to about adult-hood before I think to myself, “Gee, I bet being a doctor instead of an author would be cool.” Either that, or I branch off one Sim into three or four different life-lines because I made some inconsequential decision that I felt I might need to back-track on. What it all boils down to is that I’ve got doctors, chefs, athletes, authors, painters, bums, criminals – all of whom have barely made it into adulthood – that I leave hanging because I get bored with them and create a new doctor, chef, athlete, etc. I have never aged a Sim into an old person. Not once. But I usually play the game on Epic setting anyway, so it takes something like 600 in-game days to get there, and I just don’t have that sort of stamina. Oddly, I’ve never married off a Sim or had a Sim have a baby. Just like life – that scares me.
