dress supposed to be made of? I assumed Fred’s was made from some sort of big cat, Barney’s from maybe a buffalo or something. Not sure about Wilma’s - obviously they didn’t live in polar bear territory but at least it’s a color found in nature. What the heck kind of blue animal was running around Bedrock (perhaps it was related to the purple dinosaur)? ---

One of my [cats](http://s968.photobucket.com/albums/ae168/LynnBodoni/New%20kitty%20-%20Chaos/) is blue. Seriously, that’s what the vet records list as her color. She’s basically grey, with a silver blue sheen to her fur. Also, there are dog and horse colors/coat patterns that are regarded as blue. Or maybe she dyed the fur. ---

Since dinosaurs coexisted with man, and we have no idea exactly what color dinosaurs were, it could have been blue dinosaur skin. The real question is what is up with all that Flintstones Christmas stuff? They even had a Flintstones Christmas CEREAL. I’m pretty sure Christmas (at least the form with Santa Claus) wasn’t invented until AD. ---

Good answers, all, even you wisenheimmers. I guess it’s like asking the old question “why does Donald Duck wear a shirt but no pants and then wrap a towel around himself when he gets out of the shower?” The anser is, of course, “because it’s a _cartoon_, stupid!” The question was only half serious. I really did wonder as a kid what Betty’s dress was supposed to be. I guess my question should have been more along the lines of why Betty’s dress seems incongruous with the othe three main characters, but I guess it’s just as simple as Mssrs Hanna and Barbera wanted it that way. ---
