What was Betty Rubble's

I always heard it that the Flintstones took place down on the bombed-out remains of the earth, while the Jetsons were in the floating cities above, consisting of people rich enough to escape…

Well, I’d go with Wilma, but I’d be thinking of Betty.

I just want to say I love this theory. It reminds me of the whole “Ferris Bueller takes place in Cameron’s mind” theory that completely turns something on its head in a twisted but fascinating way.

The crossover special used time travel to get them interacting, though.

I bet you’re one of those that thinks the Star Wars christmas special was canon, too…

This is crazy. Why are you talking about going to bed with Wilma Flintstone? You’re nuts; this is an insane conversation.

She’ll never leave Fred and we know it.

Well, that’s what the Jetsons told the Flintstones anyway.

Almost but not quite. There was no apocalypse, rather mankind achieved truely stunning breakthroughs in gene-engineering techonologies. Which enabled humans to surplant the existing technologies based on rapidly diminshing petro-chemicals and instead engineer local flora and fauna into techonolgy substitutes. As can easily be seen by ‘animals’ functioning as all maner of machines from household appliances to industrial machinery.

No it was past history. If you recall when the Flintsones and Rubbles took a trip out west, they stopped by the Grand Canyon. It was just a small stream, that Fred could’ve stepped across.

One of them says, “So this is the Grand Canyon, it ain’t much.” Then Fred says, “Not now, but just wait a few million years.”

The atomic war filled it up.

My sister just said a peacock.

And, yes, something must have filled it up–or else it wouldn’t have already been called the Grand Canyon. Still, I think their history is cyclical.

/nitpick- It was the Star Wars Holiday Special and they were celebrating Life Day. There was no mention of Christmas.
