1976; I voted for Carter.
They lowered the voting age to 18 in 1972, the year I turned 18 – but I didn’t turn 18 until December of that year, so it didn’t do me any good.

I related in another thread about an NPR story I heard this a.m. about the 103 year old woman who has voted in every election in which woman have been able to participate.
She voted for Harding in 1920, and planned to go to the polls again today.
Good for her.

1988, having been about 9 months too young in 1984. Strangely, I was registered Republican. For a while I jumped parties so that I could vote for my preferred candidate in the primaries, but at present I’m unaffiliated.

1. Voted for Kerry.
I was eighteen in 2000 and intended to vote for Gore but was out with my best friend celebrating his birthday and by the time I got to my polling place, it was 7:00ish and the lines out of the building were so long that I decided to just go home.
Tennessee then went to Bush and I still hate myself for it.
