I _used_ to hum along with the Morning Edition theme, until this idiotic ringtone version came along. Does drumming on the steering wheel to the theme of Marketplace count? I did that last night. ---

“Abdul Abulbul Amir.” I had the Frank Crumit version in mind (a major gramophone hit in 1928), but was recently surprised to learn that it dates back to 1877, and the Russo-Turkish War.
