Would you be refering to this [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=287634&highlight=huge+fonts) at all, though I believe it was Threadspotting. It was tagged as “non-work safe” or something very similar. **Colophon** was pitting people who use “@#!%ing massive fonts” in threads making them hazardous for people who read message boards instead of working. Can you guess what happened? One of the funniest pit threads I’ve read in a long time. ---

I presumed it was a reference to the saying “flogging a dead horse” i.e addressing a subject that some see as having been done to death already.
