> When I was a kid I thought that “god” was a job title that someone had and we just collectively decided whoever was “god” just had unlimited power and complete knowledge of the universe. Of course, being as humble as I am, I also decided as a kid that when I grew up that’s the job I wanted to have. I got in trouble a couple of times when grown-ups would patronizingly ask me “what do you want to be when you grow up” and I’d tell them that I wanted to be god.

It’s often funny how children’s minds work, like this thread shows, and this a perfect exhibit for it.

You missed your calling! Had you become a Mormon, you could get your own world after you die.

I was 2 years old when my younger sister was born.

Obviously the events are somewhat clouded, but I vividly recall my older brother, then 4, explaining to me about belly-buttons, with a lego prop.

It took me a long time for me to realise that my own belly button did not start as the top stage of a yellow and white lego rocket.

Just to show what a dumb kid I was (to be fair, I was very young, like 5 or even younger), I had the cause-and effect of traffic lights completely ass-backwards. I thought cars just naturally took turns going though intersections, and the light changed from red to green as a result of the cars starting to go through. Until I asked my mom one day “how does the light know to turn green when the cars start moving?”
