It was on Prairie Home Companion tonight. I turned the radio on to hear this incredible music. The singers were singing in Spanish, I think. There were two of them, both female I think. The mood of the music was very intense. It recalled folk traditions and Early Music traditions, but it was a thoroughly contemporary song. It ended with some bird noises and other animal noises. I couldn’t hear when they were identified afterward.

Anyone recognize this? Know what it was?

It had me almost in tears it was that good. My eight year old piped up in the back, “this music makes me feel weird but good.”

I think it must have been DakhaBrakha, and in that case I guess it wasn’t Spanish. Oops!
