# What was this movie I saw

I was in the doctor’s office last week, and they were playing some animated disney film for the kids. I happened to see the tail end of it, and now I’m curious about what the film was.

It looked like 80s era Disney style animation. It was a fairy tale setting. There was an (apparantly) good prince who was in love with a princess. Said princess had extremely blond, long hair. There was also an evil king, who might’ve been the prince’s uncle. He had an evil looking goatee and shot red/orange magic lightning bolts out of his fingers. He had a magic fight with the prince at some point, and I believe the princess got hit, so the prince rushed over to her. There were also frogs and various other forest creatures, and I think some of them talked. Can anyone identify this movie?

Sounds like it could be either [The Swan Princess\*](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111333/) or [The Swan Princess II\*](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120254/).

Any other clues you can remember? Did the talking frog speak with a French accent? Was there a talking turtle who sounded like he was on Quaaludes? Did you recognize any voice actors’ voices? Did any of the songs strike a chord?

There was definately a turtle. I don’t know if he sounded like he was on Quaaludes, both because I’m sheltered enough that I don’t know what someone on Quaaludes sounds like, and because the sound was turned down enough that the dialogue was barely intelligible.
