I started to amass CDs before I got a CD player. By the time I got one, I had 6 CDs. The FIRST of which was Alice Cooper’s _Billion Dollar Babies_. I have no idea what my first tape or vinyl purchase was. ---

I was in the sixth grade. A mere lad. It was 1969. What did I know. So I bought **Disraeli Gears** by Cream. Now I’ve got at copy of it on CD. And I still give it a listen every now and again. Dave ---

Oh goody, a chance to show my age. My first music purchase (please bear in mind I was 11 at the time) was a 45 of _Billy, Don’t Be A Hero_ by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods. I assure you, my taste has improved with age! ---

I purchased two albums simultaneously for my first brush with musical commerce: “Destroyer” by Kiss and “Le Freak” (featuring the hit song “Freak Out”) by Chic. Early evidence of a dichotomy that even today rules my brain. ---
