Just wondering. My husband and I only had six guests at our wedding (our parents and siblings), so we didn’t have any sort of true wedding reception or first dance. But after we got done with the ceremony, I put on “How Forever Feels” by Kenny Chesney and we danced to it in my living room, so I count it as our first dance. ---

It was supposed to be Why Worry by Dire Straits. We picked Why Worry because we were just coming out of college and didn’t have the best finances and weren’t sure what life had in store for us. Unfortunately the band didn’t know that one so they played Lady in Red. I remember initially being mad, but then dancing with my new wife it all melted away and we danced and hugged and it was one of the best experiences in my life. I really didn’t know that song and just listened to it recently and realized that it really was appropriate (other than she was in white). We’ve had 28 years of ups and downs and three kids but I wouldn’t trade if for anything, and still remember that dance. ---
