Incoming: Five or six years ago, a friend of mine spent some time in Cuernavaca, a little place near Mexico City, where she had a passionate love affair with someone she met while studying Nahuatl (one of the indigenous languages of Mexico.) They broke it off when she returned to the U.S. about 5 or 6 years ago. She had no contact with him after that, except for a few long-distance phone calls. Out of the blue, he sends her a very intense love letter. Apparently, he was walking down the street when a scent hit him, and it reminded him of her and the romance they’d had. She has no idea how to respond to this e-mail and really needs to talk about this, so she forwarded the message to me.
Outgoing: My response to this guy’s e-mail. She knows through acquaintances that he’s involved with a woman who has 2 kids. My friend doesn’t know who the father of those kids is. I told her that she’s best off just leaving the guy alone and not responding to the e-mail, or responding in a way that’s cordial but not encouraging.

More penis enlarging spam
The last real email was pics of the grandkids. There was an especially cute one of the two and a half year old boy riding a scooter along side a bunch of preteen girls. Thinking about this for a minute … should I be worried that a 30 month old has figured out how to ride a scooter _and_ pick up girls?

Counting only actual emails from my friends: (which is what I did with my first post in this thread)
A friend and I had a brief exchange of email this afternoon.
**Received** : He told me that he hadn’t had much of a chance to IM with me over the past few days, because he’d been keeping first-shift hours. Thank goodness he finally explained that term, since it had been bugging me at least over the past few months. (he’s been getting up at 3-5 AM, and going to bed at 7-9 PM)
He also told me that he wasn’t angry with me, nor had he forgotten about me. (which was nice to hear… I need too much reassurance sometimes, I think)
**Sent** : A reply to him, thanking him for the double reassurance. (this morning when I couldn’t sleep for some reason, he finally got on IM and talked to me for about an hour or so; telling me the contents of his email in the process)
I also told him that whenever he sent me HTML email, whatever he wrote was invariably cut off at the end of the page… resulting in cut-off lines of text that are a little inconvenient to read. Just bringing it to his attention, in case he didn’t know.
**Received** : His reply in plain text email (thank you!), saying that he didn’t realize that. He surmised that it must be a weird efect of his sending HTML emails to my account, and that he’d knock it off. (even included a smile for me… I feel so special now, hahaha)
**Sent** : My stating that I could live with it, because I didn’t want to cause him any extra trouble just on my acount… but thanking him anyhow.
That should end the email exchange, probably. Although it’s funny: no other HTML email I receive cuts off lines at the edge of the page. At least this will be the end of misleading email message sizes in my inbox… yipee! (12K of email for maybe 1 or 2K worth of text? Forget it!)
