A beagle puppy. I begged every year, even after I knew Santa was a myth. I wanted that puppy so bad. I have had several in my adult life, the first one Mr.Wrekker got me for our first anniversary. His name was Bingo. I had him 10 years. Loved that pup-sy! ---

Micronauts. Particularly some of the later vehicles and aliens like Antron, Membros, and Repto. I was obsessed with them, but after one Christmas my mother declared they were “silly” and “for little kids”, and so I got clothes instead. Rather awful beige corduroy slacks, if I recall correctly. ☹ ---

I mentioned this in the “least favorite” game thread. But I really wanted a colecovision console. Instead I got 1 share of Coleco stock which promptly tanked and went bankrupt. My life lesson was to not get into the stock market. Thanks parents! Tharents. ---

A “[Fanner 50](http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7CKvu6_i94A/U11zufGFUtI/AAAAAAAARh4/7109KdpTbIE/s1600/aFFHolster+50+550.jpg)” cap pistol. Toy guns looked very realistic back in the 50s, and this one was the holy grail. Looked like a real sixgun, but had a wide hammer, so that you could hold the pistol with one hand and fan the hammer with the heel of your other hand. Sadly, I could never come up with the right strategy to get one. ---

[A 1972 Yamaha 100cc LT2 Enduro](https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=AwrSbD6UgkBa6koAlCtXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTByNWU4cGh1BGNvbG8DZ3ExBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--?p=1972+yamaha+lt2&fr=yfp-t) Not so much for Christmas, but I HAD to have one. Got it when I was 11 years old (I was big for my age, plenty big enough to handle it). Lived in the country. 5 acres and lots of farm roads to ride it on. About a year later, it (I) put myself in the hospital for 4 days with 130 stiches in my forehead and scalp. Basically ‘scalped’ me from my left eyebrow up. Also nearly tore my ear off. I was wearing a helmet (always did) and the accident ended up driving the steel rear fender up under my helmet. Damn near killed me. Scars are not two noticeable now unless I point them out. Had a great surgeon (and a very large dose of luck). ---

Computer Battleship. I did get it. I wish I hadn’t, because I overlooked two things. One, you needed another player, which was a sporadic thing to have at the best of times, and two you had to laboriously program in the coordinates before every game, which took about 20 minutes minimum. After that I never coveted another specific gift, I just requested a few things and was okay if they never eventuated. Though one year my ‘big present’ was a cricket set, even though I despise sport. I was mystified and disappointed that year. ---

I don’t remember what I wanted, but my brother (who was 3 or 4) really wanted one of those electric cars you can ride in. He wanted the same model SUV my dad had. He got it. Eventually drove it into the pool. ---
