# What were the fashion trends of the 90's?

A lot of women in 1995-1996 had “the Rachel,” the haircut Jennifer Aniston had on _Friends_.

I stopped wearing those babydoll dresses (with tights and combat boots!) after one of the employees at my Spring Break temp job made a comment about “my condition.” He thought I was pregnant, which was pretty mortifying to my virginal, 19-year-old self.

Speaking of retro fashions, the [Bettie Page hairstyle](http://www.hollywoodjesus.com/movie/notorious_betty/03.jpg) had a run of popularity among the scenesters in the late 90s.

Boy, do I miss that fad. Love that 'do.

(And yeah, I know that’s not actually Bettie Page in the link. It’s just that all the actual pictures of Bettie are a little on the _racy_ side for a nice family-friendly message board like ours.)
