I think that’s giving him entirely more credit and relevance than he has. If Der Trihs didn’t exist, it would be necessary for conservatives to invent him. And given their success at inventing cat-eating Haitians, they wouldn’t have missed a beat. But flip it around: if people had listened when the Left warned them about the pernicious effects of the Contract with America in 1994, about the perils of platforming Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson and Pat Buchanan, we wouldn’t have gotten to Trump. Trump succeeded because of decades of groundwork by the Right, while too many people acted like everything was fine. ---

Stupid questions asked by members are irritating me. how do I cook a microwave packet of rice, how do I report a post, how do I go to the last post? I am totally fine with folks asking questions like that. It’s the best way for some folks to learn. There’s a setting you might want to change. Click on your profile in the upper right, click on the silhouette of a person, and click on “preferences.” Click the “security” menu button. Uncheck the box that says “I have to reply to every request for help, even if I think it’s stupid.” ---

The rice thing was, like, read the package instructions. Follow them, not necessarily really carefully That’s dumb cooking, a 6 yo. could manage that. And all the cryptic spelling of the brand name of the rice. Good grief. ---
