Criticisms of Israeli government policy and actions, up to and including accusations of genocide, are no more responsible for terrorist attacks on Jews around the world than actual Israeli government policy and actions (whether or not it qualifies as genocide). ---

Yanno folks, we have a dedicated thread to hash out the Israel / Gaza flail. And we probably have one about general purpose anti-Semitic violence / terrorism worldwide. If not, they’re easy to start. The only thing I’m sure of is this thread ain’t those threads. YMMV of course, but this ought to be a fairly uncontroversial position I’m taking here. ---

Lotta folks seem to assume that _every_ step-relationship is 1 inch from becoming abusive. Do some? Sure. Is that a reason for no-one to ever enter into one? Of course not. The excluded middle is very powerful in that one. For a few too many “that ones” around here. ---
