While I give my guideline for longish threads (though I wasn’t thinking in the hundreds of posts), the same posters I’m thinking of pull this shit in threads of like 30 replies. The truth is, I don’t give a fuck about your opinion if you haven’t even bothered to read a couple posts to intuit of what has been and hasn’t already been said. I feel like I’m teetering on the brink of irony in this post, but it always comes off as “I’m too important to bother reading the thread, and I must be heard, because I love the look of my words, and I’m sure you all care about what I have to state on this subject.” ---

Hey, I think I was that 3rd reponse. It’s my way of dealing with daily eating. Any diabetic does this. You’re counting carbs in your head, constantly trying to figure out what you can eat and what you need to do to minimize problems with your BG numbers. Taste, fine dining, restaurants and parties will always be a problem with folks like me. It’s not your job to feed _Me_ properly. I do that just fine. You’re giving a dinner party, for say 12 guests. Are you gonna try to accomdate everyones dietary needs? So don’t focus on me. I’ll look at what you offer, make choices about what I _can_ eat, you offer regular cheesecake, if I’m able and I would like it, I will. Anywhoo, my cats way cuter than you, and don’t make cheesecake 😊 ---

Speaking of reading posts, this is very minor, but it sorta bugs me a little. A few hours ago I made a post in the “Real-world examples of 'Umm, acktually …” thread about the specific mental algorithm that native English speakers tend to internalize when deciding the order of multiple adjectives, with a detailed description of each of the 8 criteria we subconsciously tend to use to sort importance. There followed a discussion about it with several posters. 8 posts and about two hours later, **immediately** following the discussion, @TroutMan makes a post (paraphrased): hey, I just found out there’s a defined order in which we sort adjectives, and here are the 8 criteria!" JFC. **Troutman**! You’re a good poster, but do you fucking even read **anything** before you post? ---

So this was an interesting experience for me, because I was nodding along with the complaints about people not reading threads. I agree, it’s annoying as hell. And then I did the exact same thing, on the same day no less. It’s like some corollary of Gaudere’s Law. I truly have no idea how I missed the post I repeated. I’ve been following that thread (and contributing) from the beginning. Did I fail to read to the bottom of the thread at one point, and when I came back it jumped to newer posts? Did my finger slip on my phone and I scrolled through a few without noticing? Was I skimming a few posts and missed it? Who knows. If you’d asked me if I read every post in the thread, I’ve have sworn up and down I did. When **wolfpup** called me out, I was typing a response about how no one had actually listed the specific order, but I decided to check one more time, and there it was. So anyway, I’m now inclined to grant a little more grace to people. Shit happens, people miss things. Now the repeat offenders…that’s another story. I’ll maintain full vitriol for them. ---
