Over in a thread about AI, Darren Garrison is berating anyone who hasn’t heard of his favorite Anime studio. > [@Open AI's latest wonder: text to video with Sora](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/open-ais-latest-wonder-text-to-video-with-sora/997648/105): > > > [@Open AI's latest wonder: text to video with Sora](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/open-ais-latest-wonder-text-to-video-with-sora/997648/103): > > > > It’s very much not, not even in the same zipcode. > > I suppose. After all, they have won two of the six Best Animated Feature Oscars they have been nominated for, and been the only group ever awarded a Cannes Palme d’Or, but it is still possible for people (especially American ones) who pay extremely little attention to the film industry to have never heard of it. To their extreme loss. This is what I was originally going to say: Cool story, bro. There are lots of cool things I’m familiar with that you may not be, but I’m not about to berate you for it. But now that we’re in the Pit, I’ll also throw in a “you fucking asshole” to the end. Smugly superior pricks like you suck regardless of which hobby or interest they’re smugly superior about. The idiot insisted that not hearing of his hobby horse is like not having heard of _Disney_, which is _hilariously_ culturally disconnected. --- _[View the full topic](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/what-were-you-thinking/991532)._
