Mostly he’s fine, sometimes he really likes to be an argumentative and cantankerous ass. This is one of those times.

That whole thread was apparently just a gotcha thread. I somewhat regret taking the time to [make a long, thought out and detailed reply to it](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/question-about-ops-control-over-threads-progress/1028650/2).
