I love football and go into a serious depression when the season ends. So, I’m one of those people who watches the super bowl for both the game and the ads. This years winners, IMO, are: bud zebra replay doggy dreadlocks pepsi osmond osbournes sierra mist fire hydrant shower monkey swim trident squirrel nut chomp mlife gilligan speed dial And you? Tell me what if you agree/disagree and what others did you like? 😃 ---

I liked the FedEx takeoff on Castaway…the satellite phone, a fishing line, etc… Plus, my dad is a HUGE Willie Nelson fan, so I thought the H&R Block was was cute too. ---

The absolute best was the Reebok ad with the “Office Linebacker.” The worst has to be all of those ABC ads for “Super Monday.” The Practice is so over. Move on, ABC. ---

No, the worst ones were the anti-drug ads. The first one - about the evil effects of big drug money - has always been one of the best arguments for legalization. And the second one, with the teenage girl pregnant because she had sex while under the influence of something illegal (“drug use impairs judgment” or some such), was just plain dumb. I mean, teens _never_ have sex while drunk, or just because their hormones are raging. My favorite was the Gilligan takeoff. “The Coast Guard on speed-dial” indeed. ---

I thought the guy choking was pretty funny. And the guy who liked the girl’s roommate made me laugh. But, granted, I had had more than a handful of beer prior to watching them, so I don’t really know if they were _funny_. Were they successful? Well, I couldn’t tell you what they were advertising. Thank God I’m a guy\. Those anti-drug commericals are strictly mockable. Making fun of the anti-drug commericals is my anti-drug. Oh, I don’t think this’s been mentioned yet, but I thought the Pespi Twist commercial where the Osborne kids turned into the Osmonds was one of the best. Although, all three (?) of the Bud Lite commercials were great. “Can I get one of those hot dogs?” Subtle genius.
