What/where is the biggest functional screw thread in the world

Here is a picture of the Space Needle bolts.

Here is a fact sheet on the Space Needle.

Thanks - they’re not as big - diameter or pitch-wise (which is what I think must count for this question) as the thread on the Great Bronze Bombard - but I can’t believe that would be the biggest, either.

In the oil and gas industry some pretty large pipes are screwed together with a threaded connection, either for surface conductors for oil wells (typically offshore) or caissons for offshore structural applications.

72 inch diameter threaded connection for the win (6 feet or 1.82 m)

The above link shows a cross section of the connection. If you get one with 2.25 wall thickness and X-80 grade steel it should be good for 39 milllion pounds yield tensile or compressive load, and good to 4300 psi burst strength.

Well, let’s just say it’s not going anywhere without my approval.

It is my understanding that a tanks turret is threaded onto the hull.

Doesn’t make much sense, as you want the turret to be able to rotate freely. In fact, I know in many WWII tanks, the turrets were held in place only by gravity – if something inside the tank exploded, or the tank tipped over, the turret would come right off.
