TVs playing recordings from Fox News, which is where Trump seems to have gotten all his information. Along with the blank books of health care plans, the blank books of the parts of his supposed books he wrote himself. Or probably even read. ---

It’s also where the president’s papers are stored. Robert Caro when he works on his LBJ volumes does his research at the LBJ library but even he has to wait for documents to be declassified and released finally from a vault. ---

To be fair, the big book they gave to Lesley Stahl wasn’t all blank. It wasn’t a health-care plan, either, but it wasn’t all blank (past the frontispiece pages). It was a bound set of all the useless Executive Orders on healthcare that Trump has signed, none of which was any kind of comprehensive plan. ---

The Presidential Records Act requires presidents to preserve essentially every document or scrap of paper they ever lay their eyes or fingers on throughout their presidency, to be preserved in the custody of the National Archives. (I think this rule was something that came as a result of Watergate.) Trump has notoriously ignored this, preferring to shred just about everything he touches. I’ve read that the National Archives has an agent whose job is to empty Trump’s wastebaskets and collect all the shreds, which a team of archivists spend their time trying to put back together. (Yes, I really read that somewhere once. I wonder how true that is?) So the library should preserve all those bags of shreds, catalogued by date and which office they were collected from. Every Saturday a bag of shreds will be poured out on the floor in a room and the general public (for an admission fee) will be invited in to try putting shreds together to reconstruct original documents. ---
