Here’s the headline I expect to see. Trump leads in early count; claims victory and goes to court to get them to stop counting. That would be the head and subhead. He has already made the claim that the vote counting should stop at midnight since the law states election should be held on such and such day (Nov. 5 this year). Scotus is so corrupt, it might buy that argument. ---

**Election remains too close to call, Trump calls for Civil War against rigged system. Texas, Florida state governments state “Ready for War”** Seriously, I’ve stocked up plenty of booze to get me through the next few weeks. The rational and practical prevented any kneejerk reaction towards stocking up on ammunition, since it wouldn’t help and would likely hurt. [to be clear, to protect myself from the rabid Trumpers in my neighborhood that I’ve mentioned in other threads] ---

In 2020 Trump took an early lead and then the blue tide came in and washed that lead away. This was due to mail-in votes of which there were a lot due to COVID and they were mostly votes for Clinton (because it was mostly liberals who wanted to follow advice to stay away from other people like at a polling place). But, they are not counted until after the polls are tallied in most states (I think). So, Wednesday morning it looked like Trump walked away with it. Then the mail-in votes changed it all over the next few days. This is a big reason (the main reason) Trump felt the election was stolen from him. Apparently mail-in votes are very high this year too but it is uncertain who those voters are this time since COVID is not an issue. Even if there are no shenanigans (and it is a really good bet there will be shenanigans) I doubt we would have a sense of who won until Thursday or Friday barring a landslide at the polls. ---

“It’s another day but partisans are still angry at each other.” Sheesh. There are likely to be weird one-offs here and there because there are some crazy idiots out there, but it’s going to be another day. The only thing I’d predict is the lack of any “decisive” calls at the national level (obviously California’s results will be decisive for California). ---
